Ernie is talking to Rose about a complain for public displays of affection. In the process of them talking about her going to jail for kissin he has a flashback about being naked on the hood of a car makin’ out to Def Leppard’s “Pour Some Sugar On Me”
BTW: I love Def Leppard!! 🙂
Oh, this made me laugh out loud! Def Leppard sings “Pour Some Sugar on Me” and Officer Ernie referenced this song when he was lecturing Rose about kissing Joe in public. Rose replied that it wasn’t against the law to kiss in public and Officer Ernie says it starts with kissing in public and then the next thing you know you are makin’ love on the the hood of your car to Def Leppard’s “Pour Some Sugar on Me”! Hilarious!!
Ernie is the officer that wanted to put handcuffs on Rose to take her down to the station for questioning. “HYSTERIA” bubbled up in her throat when she realized they were going to handcuff her.There is your connection!
This is because he said “Thats how it starts, then next thing you know, you’re naked on the hood of your car, makin’ love to Def Leoppard’s Pour Some Sugar On Me.”
The scene made me LOL, when Officer Ernie showed up at Rose’s house to investigate the complaints made my Miss Mildred (albeit annoymously), Ernie referenced the song Pour Some Sugar On Me and talked about getting hot and heavy on the hood of a car, which may or may not have something to do with a past experience by Ernie 🙂
After receiving an anonymous (Miss Mildred) complaint about Rose being involved in indecent acts in public, Officer Ernie shows up at her house to investigate. Rose defends her kiss with Joe but Officer Ernie insists that it starts with a kiss and then you end up “naked on the hood of a car making love to Def Leppard’s ‘Pour Some Sugar On Me’.”
That particular song happens to be one of the tracks on their ‘Hysteria’ album.
